Experts

James Lyall has nineteen years experience in the construction and engineering industries providing planning, project and programme management, forensic delay analysis and claims management services to clients worldwide.  James is masters qualified from the University of London and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. James has major claims experience in Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and has worked on a number of high profile oil & gas, civil engineering, building, and transport disputes.

James has testified on five occasions in international arbitration and the Victorian Supreme Court as an Expert Witness, acted as an Expert Determiner and prepared numerous expert reports.  James regularly advise on planning and programming issues on major projects and is often appointed as the commission lead on complex and technically demanding claims assignments. James has a proven ability to apply sophisticated planning techniques and present the same using simple, easily understood graphics, illustrations and high quality presentations.

As a project manager and planner, James has predominantly worked in the UK focusing on the delivery of the mechanical, electrical, fire and plumbing services in commercial, hospitality, transport infrastructure and residential construction.  James was seconded to London Underground to provide project management and programme recovery services on a major civil engineering and transportation project in central London.

James Hamson is a project management and engineering professional with over sixteen years experience in engineering, construction and consulting industries. After thirteen years executing international oil & gas construction projects, he moved into the consulting industry, using his experience to provide in-depth expert advice to contractors and employers of major construction projects. Having held positions of responsibility including Engineering Manager, Lead Construction Project Engineer and Lead Engineering Schedule Coordinator, James is now acting as a delay expert and has been appointed on multiple matters across Australia.

James is a Chartered Engineer with multi-discipline technical engineering knowledge and comprehensive project management expertise. He is proficient in the areas of scheduling, project controls and team leadership. James is a clear communicator and able to produce concise and logical independent analysis for complex projects.

James has traveled extensively on international project assignments and has lived in Australia, UK, USA and Singapore, providing him with an exposure to some of the world’s largest international projects, contractors, employers and construction law firms.
